Blanca Garza

I am Blanca Garza, Mexican, regia by birth and tapatía by heart. I have lived in Guadalajara for 20 years, but I received my artistic training in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. Since I was 5 years old I had the opportunity to have contact with many materials and techniques in the studio of the teacher Lilia Rodriguez. I have painted all my life and I have been able to experiment with all kinds of dry and wet techniques, engravings and some sculpture. I have never stopped searching and experimenting in the plastic arts.

I arrived at the faculty of visual arts where I discovered a huge world that made me even more passionate about it. Thus began an incredible journey, where I met great artists and excellent teachers. There I had the opportunity to take advantage of every space, tool and knowledge.

I can't imagine being anything else in life, it is my dream come true. I always dreamed of being an artist and a teacher, to be able to share my passion, what I know and what I am with others; I could not live without it. It enriches me a lot to work with others, it fills me as a human being; because, just as I share my knowledge with them, they give me feedback, making me grow and develop much more.

I greatly enjoy reading, music, movies, meditation and yoga. I also declare myself a lover of nature and of living with animals. In my work I am passionate about acrylics, I like the transparency of watercolors, I am crazy about textures, I like textures, contrasts, experimenting with new materials and volumes.

I like to tell stories, to reflect that the world is not only tragedy, hopelessness; but on the contrary, that the world and people have much to give and offer.

I am still in search of transcendence and evolution as an artist and as a human being, I hope that my work can reach other spaces and other places in order to spread my message.
