Eder Eme
Painter, Graffiti Artist
“My art has the purpose of producing and expressing experience for the viewer to discover and admire the world, himself and others. It is a way of knowing and transforming reality.”
He is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Baja California, Mexico. He is a contemporary artist formerly active in Graffiti under the pseudonym DIES. His work focuses on fictional characters, animals often stylized with geometric features and other elements that influenced and shaped the artist's creative style.
His work reflects growing up in the 1990s, the influence of street culture inspired by typography, letter forms, and the writing of his pseudonym in the different styles of Graffiti. After 2014, his style began a gradual transition towards graphic representation and geometric abstraction.
The artist's work thrives on the complex interplay between two-dimensionality and interaction between two- and three-dimensionality: generating synergy between fluid organic, geometric organic and fluid geometric forms, combining expressive colors and multifaceted patterns that give life to his work.
These pieces and productions are due both to the urban environment, modern art history and design. Constructivism is a clear point of reference.
