“Find new ways to interpret his surroundings and make a profound impact in society's conscience.”

Jacob Flores Carrillo is a Mexican artist born in Guadalajara, Jalisco on April 3, 1981. Since he was 18 years old, Flores Carrillo has ventured into the world of art and painting, but it was not until 2008 when he began to do it professionally. Much of the painter's work is in the spaces of the most important collectors in the country.

The essence of the artistic project of the artist from Guadalajara is to find new ways to interpret his environment and generate a profound impact on the conscience of society. It is a work that reflects those moments of solitude in which everything seems to go against. His work takes us from tranquility to chaos, from closeness to distancing, from loneliness to companionship, from here to tomorrow. But his work goes beyond desolation: he tries at the same time to suggest a necessary reconstruction and search that allows us to locate man in his initial state. His work is a constant proposal for the reconstruction of morality, of life itself. It has, of course, an implicit message, a philosophy of life.

The word that best describes his work is eclectic. In it we find surrealist details, impressionist messages, expressionist ideas. Such is his work, such is his oeuvre. Work where objects seem to have life, framed in landscapes and moments, in complex and perhaps even real moments. It is a quality work of a painter with the same qualification. His work takes us to historical episodes and contemporary moments. We come and go - he takes us - in time and history through his work.

The Cabañas Cultural Institute was his school of learning. After graduating from Cabañas, the quality of his work has been unquestionable. To mention a few awards: Honorable mention in the October Salon, 2010; painting of the month in the ex Convento del Carmen, 2011; honorable mention in Fifth Art Exhibition Grupo Reforma, 2012; Collective Exhibition Grupo Reforma in Paris, France, 2012 and 2013; Collective Exhibition in the Juan Soriano Gallery, 2012; Honorable mention and first place in Sixth Art Exhibition Grupo Reforma, 2013; Third place in Jorge Martinez National Painting Award; Third place and Honorable Mention in the Rodin Royal Talents national painting contest. From those years to date he has continued to exhibit his work in international and national spaces of recognized prestige.

At 40 years of age, his pictorial work is marking a milestone in contemporary art in Jalisco and Mexico. With the inspiration in his soul and his talent, Flores Carillo is conquering even the most demanding audiences.
