Mykola Kuryliuk
Painter, Pop Art
“For me art is everything, I can say that I have never called it work, it is a process that fills my whole life, and this process is manifested in the whole worldview and everyday life.”
My name is Mykola Kuryliuk, I am an artist. My artistic journey began when I was about 12 years old. My father took me to the workshop of his artist friend, who later became my friend and mentor. And then he became a very close friend of mine. He helped me develop and eventually I entered the Kosovo College of Decorative and Applied Arts.
Then I continued my studies at the Lviv National Academy of Arts at the department of restoration of works of art. But the restoration did not attract me and I began to look for myself in painting and, in principle, I continue to look for myself now. When the war with the Russian Empire began, for the first two months it was impossible to create at all. I began to think - how can we help our soldiers and people who needed support. I started offering my work to all the people who used to buy my work from me. And from each sale, I sent part of the money to charitable foundations and friends who are now at war, or volunteer organizations. And now I continue to do it. If we talk about plans for the future, then there are no global plans, since the war destroys all your plans. Also, the threat of a nuclear strike introduces a depressive state. But I believe that we will definitely win and that victory is not far off. It will be very soon. The people of Ukraine are doing everything possible for this as a whole. Thanks to all the organizers of Arte Vivo for their cooperation and support.
